Kouga High School

Lore & Background

Despite their rough exterior and controversial methods, Kouga is not without talent. Their roster is filled with athletes who possess raw, untamed power that few other teams can match physically. The school's culture fosters a mindset where pain is secondary to victory, creating players who are mentally hardened against the most violent hits. In the grand narrative of the national tournament, they serve as the ultimate physical barrier, forcing opponents like Deimon to evolve beyond simple trickery and develop genuine resilience to survive.

Reader's Guide

Kouga High School serves as a major antagonist force in the early to mid-stages of the national tournament arc. They are characterized by their overwhelming physical strength and a willingness to use dirty tactics to gain an advantage. Their team philosophy revolves around intimidation, aiming to break the spirit of their opponents through sheer violence on the field. This makes them a unique challenge for teams like Deimon, who rely on speed and trickery rather than brute force. In the broader context of the series, Kouga represents the 'old guard' of football that prioritizes dominance over sportsmanship.
