Expedition 17 was the 17th expedition to the International Space Station. Sergey Volkov and Oleg Kononenko launched on 8 April 2008 aboard Soyuz TMA-12, joining Garrett Reisman, who transferred from Expedition 16. Volkov, at 35, became the youngest ISS commander.
