Biography

The group's first single, Bad Boy, was accompanied by a photoshoot for the Dutch Playboy in 1984. They performed the song naked on the TV show TopPop. The single Dictator reached number 6 in the Dutch Top 40 and number 19 in the Belgium Top 30; the group performed it for the German TV show WWF Club. Further hits included Up and Coming and a cover of Golden Earring's Radar Love. Their debut album Man's Ruin was released in 1987 and charted reasonably in the Netherlands. In 1988 Cecilia de la Rie left and was replaced by Sandra Noach. The new line-up released the single Play the Game in April 1989. Shortly after, Noach committed suicide, ending the group. A second album, Whistling at the Wolves, was canceled by the record company.

Life after Centerfold

Rowan Moore and Laura Fygi formed The Backlot, releasing one album and two singles: Tower of Love (number 76 in the Dutch Single Top 100) and The Goodbye. Cecilia de la Rie started Red Cinder and released a mini-album in 1992. Neither band lasted long. A Best Of CD was released by Red Bullet Records in 1992. Laura Fygi became a jazz singer; Rowan Moore became a television moderator for VPRO and commercial TV.
