Lore & Background
The real AS Val (GRAU 6P30) is the folding-stock assault rifle variant of the VSS Vintorez, developed by TsNIITochMash in the mid-1980s for Soviet special forces and clandestine units. Both rifles were adopted by the Soviet armed forces in 1987 and built at the Tula Arms Plant. In the game, one AS VAL has to be built for the quest Gunsmith - AS VAL, and the rifle is also a reward from the quests Anesthesia and Stick in the Wheel.
