The Killer's Identity Revealed

Lore & Background

This revelation is built upon years of suppressed trauma and hidden connections between the killer and Satoru's family. Gaku Yashiro's actions were not random but driven by a twisted desire for control rooted in his own childhood experiences. The evidence gathered includes photographic proof and witness testimony that aligns only when viewed through the lens of altered time. The mechanics of this arc rely heavily on the limitations of Revival, which requires Satoru to act quickly before death occurs. This shift fundamentally changes the emotional landscape for all characters involved, offering closure that was previously impossible.

Reader's Guide

The narrative reaches its breaking point when Satoru pieces together the pattern of disappearances in his elementary school class. Through careful observation and evidence gathering, he identifies Kai Tsubaki as the predator responsible for Kayo Hinazuki's disappearance. This realization forces a final activation of Revival to alter the outcome once more. In this critical arc, Satoru must convince Kayo's mother that her daughter is in danger without alerting Kai himself.

The mechanic of time travel becomes crucial as Satoru attempts to create an alibi and trap the killer using his future knowledge. Each jump refines his strategy until he can secure proof that holds up legally. Ultimately, the timeline shifts permanently when Kayo survives, breaking the cycle of death that plagued Satoru's mother in the original timeline. The revelation concludes with Kai's arrest, ensuring safety for both timelines and allowing Satoru to finally move forward without the burden of past tragedies haunting his present life.
