Malibooty

"Malibooty," the 45th episode of *Entourage*, aired on HBO on July 1, 2007, as the third installment of the fourth season. Executive producer Rob Weiss wrote it, and Ken Whittingham directed. The show follows Vincent Chase, a young A-list movie star, and his friends from Queens as they try to advance their careers in Los Angeles.

In the episode, Vince meets actor Dennis Hopper and lands in trouble after making a $100,000 bet. Eric works to salvage the film *Medellín*, while Drama and Turtle go on a double date. Nielsen Media Research reported that 2.55 million households watched the episode, earning a 1.6/5 ratings share among adults aged 18–49. Critics gave mixed reviews; Dennis Hopper's guest appearance was praised, but some expressed frustration with the storylines.

The plot finds Vince and Eric living with Drama and Turtle at Drama's apartment. While driving, Vince leaves with a girl to a house in Malibu, where he is surprised to find she is friends with Dennis Hopper. Eric visits Billy to suggest improvements on *Medellín*, but Billy angrily rejects his comments. Billy has ignored Eric's idea to submit the film to Sundance and instead sent an unfinished cut to Cannes. Ari cannot interfere because Billy has final cut privilege. Drama reunites with '90s party girl Donna, bringing Turtle as his wingman to spend time with Donna's friend Marjorie. Donna instead takes an interest in Turtle and sleeps with him, leaving Drama with Marjorie. Vince bets $100,000 on a soccer match but is relieved when the bets are not official, so he leaves with the girl. Eric meets Harvey Weingard, who, despite poor word of mouth, agrees to watch the film and offers $25 million to buy it. Eric is willing to accept, believing the film will bomb at Cannes.

The episode was Weiss's 14th writing credit and Whittingham's third directing credit. In its original broadcast, it drew an estimated 2.55 million household viewers with a 1.6/5 in the 18–49 demographic, a 12% increase from the previous episode's 2.27 million viewers and a 1.2/4 share. Critics offered mixed opinions. Ahsan Haque of IGN gave it an 8.7 out of 10, calling it "a great mix of meaningless fun" with development of the *Medellín* arc.
