Less Than 30

"Less Than 30" is the 35th episode of *Entourage* overall and the 13th of its third season. Series creator Doug Ellin wrote it, and co-executive producer Julian Farino directed. It aired on HBO on April 1, 2007. The episode follows Vincent Chase, a young A-list movie star, and his friends as they deal with Hollywood politics.

In the episode, Vince meets with his new agent, Amanda, to discuss film projects. She suggests a biopic of Edith Wharton directed by Sam Mendes. For his birthday, she takes him and his friends to a Lakers game, where they awkwardly spot Ari across the court. Meanwhile, Drama is excited about his upcoming NBC show *Five Towns* but frustrated that no one cares about its billboard on Sunset Boulevard.

Ari invites Vince and Eric to dinner, claiming it is just a friendly meeting. He avoids business talk and gets himself invited to Vince's birthday party. Eric is angry when he learns his credit cards are maxed out—he gave them to Turtle to rent a yacht, but Turtle upgraded to a bigger boat. Ari sends Vince the script for *Medellín*, which has been revived. Amanda is furious and says the project will only move forward with Benicio del Toro. At the party, Turtle reveals he got money from a Victoria's Secret sponsorship. Amanda and Ari argue over *Medellín*, with Ari claiming del Toro is losing interest. Ari admits he lied about wanting only friendship, but Vince says he is staying with Amanda. Later, Amanda offers Vince the *Glimpses of the Moon* role, but he says he will wait to see if *Medellín* is available.

The episode was written by Ellin, his 22nd writing credit, and directed by Farino, his 19th directing credit. In April 2006, Carla Gugino and Joel Silver were announced as guest stars for the season.

According to Nielsen, the episode was seen by about 3.77 million household viewers and earned a 2.0/5 rating share among adults 18–49. This was a 48% increase from the previous episode, which had 2.54 million viewers and a 1.5/4 share.

Critics gave mixed-to-positive reviews. Ahsan Haque of IGN rated it 8 out of 10, calling it "great" and noting it advanced the "life after Ari" storyline but lacked something special on its own. Alan Sepinwall said Drama had a few funny lines but not enough to save the non-Ari parts. Trish Wethman of TV Guide hoped Drama's career would take off, as his reaction to success could be funny.
