Fore! (Entourage)

"Fore!" is the 71st episode of *Entourage* overall and the fifth of its sixth season. Doug Ellin, the series' creator, wrote it, and co-executive producer Mark Mylod directed it. HBO aired it on August 9, 2009. The plot follows the core group as they participate in a charity golf tournament featuring various celebrities.

At dinner with Ashley, Eric gets a call from Sloan, who tells him she is co-chairing the tournament and that he and Vince should come. Eric agrees but keeps Sloan's involvement from Ashley. At the event, Vince and Drama are paired with Mark Wahlberg and Tom Brady. Sloan pairs Eric and Turtle with manager Murray Berenson. Turtle, a Giants fan, ditches his group to join Vince and Drama, intending to needle Brady. Ari is paired with Jeffrey Tambor, who brings his uninterested children and cheats constantly to impress them. Drama, frustrated by his own poor play, destroys one of Brady's clubs. Before Turtle can insult Brady, Brady invites him and Jamie-Lynn Sigler to dinner, making Turtle forget his plan. Murray offers Eric a job, revealing he knows him through Sloan. Eric confronts Sloan about this but considers the offer. Tambor's score is questioned for a possible record. Back home, Eric accidentally calls Ashley "Sloan."

The episode was Ellin's 46th writing credit and Mylod's 20th directing credit. Originally, Peyton and Eli Manning were set to appear, but they canceled four days before filming. Mark Wahlberg then contacted Tom Brady, who replaced them.

In its initial broadcast, the episode earned a 1.7/5 ratings share among adults 18–49, meaning 1.7 percent of TV households watched it and 5 percent of those watching at that time. The previous episode had a 1.9/6 share and an estimated 3.30 million household viewers.

Critical reception was generally positive. Ahsan Haque of IGN gave it a 7.8 out of 10, calling it entertaining but lacking substance and noting that Eric's Sloan storyline felt familiar and Ari's berating of Lloyd had grown stale. Emily St. James of *The A.V. Club* graded it a B–, calling it a pleasant but not gripping episode. Emily Christner of *TV Guide* praised the absence of Vince's career drama and the fresh material from guest stars. Jonathan Toomey of *TV Squad* observed that Eric had taken over the biggest storylines.
