Playing career

White began his junior career in 2007 with the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL). During the 2009–10 USHL season he was named Player of the Year and led the league in goals. He then played NCAA hockey for the Omaha Mavericks from 2010 to 2013. In the 2013–14 season he turned professional with the Ontario Reign of the ECHL, leading his team in scoring with 57 points as a rookie. That same period he represented the U.S. National Inline Team at the IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship, winning a gold medal in 2013 and a bronze in 2014, and was the tournament's top goal scorer in 2014. In 2014 he moved to Europe to play for Ljubljana of the Austrian Hockey League, but after 11 games returned to the Ontario Reign. He began the 2015–16 season with the ECHL's Manchester Monarchs and was promoted to the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL) on December 2, 2015, staying with the Admirals for another season. White returned to Europe for the 2017–18 season, signing with the Augsburger Panther of the DEL, where he finished among the top ten scorers in the league. After two seasons in Augsburg, he signed a one-year contract with HC Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk of the KHL on June 2, 2019. In the 2019–20 season he posted 15 goals and 34 points in 60 games, leading Neftekhimik in scoring. He then moved to Dinamo Riga of the KHL on August 6, 2020. For the 2020–21 season he returned to the DEL with Eisbären Berlin, winning the league championship in his first year. He won a second DEL title with the Polar Bears in 2021–22, leading the team in scoring during both the regular season and the playoffs; in the final game against EHC Red Bull München he scored a hat trick. For the 2023–24 season White left Berlin and signed with fellow DEL club Grizzlys Wolfsburg.
