Eintracht Frankfurt e.V. is a German professional sports club based in Frankfurt, Hesse. It is best known for its football club, which was founded on 8 March 1899. The club currently plays in the Bundesliga, the top tier of the German football league system. Eintracht have won the German championship once, the DFB-Pokal five times, the UEFA Europa League twice and finished as runner-up in the European Cup once. The team was one of the founding members of the Bundesliga at its inception and has spent a total of 57 seasons in the top division.

The club's origins go back to two football clubs founded in 1899: Frankfurter Fußball-Club Victoria von 1899 and Frankfurter Fußball-Club Kickers von 1899. They merged in May 1911 to become Frankfurter Fußball Verein (Kickers-Victoria). In 1920, Frankfurter FV joined the gymnastics club Frankfurter Turngemeinde von 1861 to form TuS Eintracht Frankfurt von 1861. The gymnasts and footballers separated again in 1927. Eintracht won the German championship in 1959 and reached the European Cup final in 1960, losing 7–3 to Real Madrid. The club was a founding member of the Bundesliga in 1963 and played 21 consecutive seasons in the top division until 1984.
