Gameplay
Swingerz Golf was designed exclusively for the GameCube, with controls tailored to its controller. The player aims the golfer using the analog stick and changes clubs with the R and L buttons, limited by the golfer's power. The X and Y buttons adjust the camera angle, zoom in on the hole, or rotate the view around obstacles. The B button toggles between a power shot and a normal shot. To swing, the player pulls back on the C Stick to set power, then flicks it forward; shot accuracy depends on how straight the stick is moved. A straight motion yields an 'Excellent' rating and restores stamina, while 'Great' or 'Good' ratings keep the ball mostly straight but cost stamina. 'Bad' or 'Poor' ratings cause a miss, short hit, or off-target shot. Holding a D-pad direction during the swing adds spin to affect flight or landing behavior. On the green, a grid shows ball reaction; pressing left or right on the D-pad thickens the grid lines for better visibility on lower-resolution televisions. The primary single-player mode is Tour Mode, where the player completes tournaments and duels to unlock new characters, specialty clubs, and balls. Additional modes include exhibition (match and stroke play), practice, survival (one-hole skin matches against increasingly difficult opponents), and mission mode, which presents challenges such as hitting within a certain distance of the cup, achieving a set number of 'Excellent' shots in a row, or holing out under par.
