Gameplay
The game features standard three-lap kart races on tracks inspired by attractions such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the Haunted Mansion, and Space Mountain. Story mode tasks players with winning parts for the fireworks machine; completing it unlocks a Splash Mountain track. On tracks based on Test Track, Typhoon Lagoon, and Hollywood Studios, players must collect thirty coins within four minutes. The roster includes 13 racers, mostly original characters, plus Chip 'n' Dale in Rescue Rangers outfits and NPC host Jiminy Cricket.
Reception
The Dreamcast version received mixed reviews according to Metacritic. IGN and Eurogamer praised the presentation and the recreation of Disney attractions, as well as the Disney-esque charm, but criticized the high CPU difficulty, some graphical elements, and the repetitive looping of short sound samples from each attraction. GameSpot called the Dreamcast version a good kart racer while noting its similarities to Mario Kart, praising track detail and sound but lamenting the short play length. NextGen's Greg Orlando stated that the formula of wacky characters, karts, and odd power-ups does not automatically equal good racing fun. Nintendo Power gave the Game Boy Color version a mixed review.
