History
Koen Groeneveld, also known as DJ Boozy Woozy, and Addy van der Zwan, known as Itty Bitty, first teamed up on the Turn Up the Bass commercial mix series. They had been making music since the early 1990s and connected with Jan Voermans, or Greatski, in 1995. Together, the three launched the sublabel Blue Records under Mid-Town Records to put out their work as Klubbheads. Their first big mainstream success came in 1996 with "Klubbhopping," which hit number 10 on the UK Singles Chart that May.
Two more top 40 singles followed: "Discohopping" in August 1997, peaking at 35, and "Kickin' Hard" in August 1998, reaching 36. In 1999, they co-produced "The Launch" for fellow Dutch artist DJ Jean, which climbed to number 2 that September. Around then, they left Blue Records and started their own label, Digidance. Using the alias Drunkenmunky, they landed a Billboard Hot Dance Airplay hit in 2003 with "E," a track that samples Eminem's "Without Me."
Outside certain markets, it was issued as "E (As in Eveline)" without that sample. Their song "Yeah!" similarly borrowed from Usher's crunk hit of the same name. In 2005, under the name Dirty Laundry, they sampled Rune RK's "Calabria." As Hi_Tack, they released a remix of "Say Say Say" in 2006, retitled "Say Say Say (Waiting 4 U)," which reached number 4 on the UK Singles Chart and debuted at 18 on Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay chart for the week ending March 6, 2006.
They also remixed Filter Funk's cover of the Police track "Message in a Bottle." Voermans chose to end the partnership in spring 2005 after a decade of work. Groeneveld and van der Zwan continue collaborating under the label Unit 54, while Voermans stayed with Digidance.
