History

The band began in 2001 when Ivar de Graaf left Within Temptation and founded Jambone, a project intended to cover classic rock songs. The initial lineup included guitarist Edo Van Der Kolk and bassist Michiel Parqui, both of whom had played with de Graaf since high school. The group released a five-track demo in January 2002. Michiel and Zelda left in October 2003, and Edo took a hiatus. A year later, de Graaf renamed the project Kingfisher Sky, and he and Rijnveld began recording at home in 2005. Eric Hoogendoorn was brought in as permanent bassist, guitarist Daan Janzing joined, and George van Olffen became the keyboardist. An eleven-track demo appeared in October 2006, and the band signed with Suburban Records that same year. Edo returned full-time in 2007, completing the lineup.
