Dota 2

Puppey began his Dota 2 competitive career with Natus Vincere alongside Dendi and Artstyle at The International 2011, where the team went undefeated and won the US$1,000,000 grand prize. They also won the Electronic Sports World Cup 2011 for US$12,000, with Puppey demonstrating prediction using Chen's ability to send teammates back to base. After ArtStyle left in October 2011, Puppey became Natus Vincere's captain. From 2011 to 2013, he placed on the podium in 31 of 32 tournaments, including wins at the Alienware cup, StarLadder Star Series Season 7, and The Defense Season 4, as well as second place at The International 2012.

After winning the Dota 2 Champions League Season 2 in 2014, Puppey placed 7-8th at The International 2014 and then left Natus Vincere with KuroKy, sparking community rumors about his departure. Following a loss to Alliance, his new team of Puppey, Fly, N0tail, KuroKy, and s4 achieved second place at Starladder Season 10. With Team Secret, he placed top 3 in seven major tournaments and one premier tournament, and won a 'Double Trouble' season with manager Matthew 'Cyborgmatt' Bailey.

His first major achievement with Team Secret was winning US$120,000 at ESL One Frankfurt against teams including Alliance, Evil Geniuses, Cloud9, and Invictus Gaming. Team Secret entered The International 2015 as heavy favorites but tied for 7-8th place, earning US$830,000. After TI5, drama arose between KuroKy and Arteezy, with Arteezy indirectly blaming KuroKy for the loss on Twitch and KuroKy responding in German forums.

Controversies

On 16 February 2016, former team manager Evany Chang accused Team Secret of not paying prize winnings to her and former players. On 9 October 2016, former player EternaLEnVy wrote a blog post detailing instances of the organisation, particularly team director Kemal and Puppey, failing to pay players on time, lying about payments and sponsorships, and taking a 10% cut from prize winnings without informing players. That same day, former player MiSeRy released a blog raising similar issues, claiming Secret did not pay him until he asked several times, and backed EternaLEnVy's claim that Puppey was the only player aware of the 10% cut.
