Can't Stop (board game)
A push-your-luck dice game of pairing and advancing.
Can't Stop is a dice game where players race to claim columns on a board with eleven columns for numbers 2 through 12.[1] The columns have 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 11, 9, 7, 5, and 3 spaces each, with the number of spaces roughly matching the likelihood of rolling that sum on two dice.[1] To win, a participant must be the first to take control of three columns.[2]

Making and release
The game was recommended by the Spiel des Jahres jury in 1982.[3] The jury stated that with Can't Stop, author Sid Sackson proves he also knows how to use dice.[4] The original edition used a large plastic game board in the shape of a stop sign as a display board.[4] A review in Games International magazine commented that "Like most of Sid's games this is easy to learn yet offers considerable replay value"[5]
Hexagames put out a version titled Can't Stop Express in 1989.[5] Once a player occupies the highest space in a column and marks it as theirs, that column becomes unavailable for any further moves.[2]
What the cited sources add
The Spiel des Jahres jury explained that after a player chooses three numbers, they must keep rolling only those numbers until they voluntarily stop and secure their results, or until they fail to roll any of those numbers and lose everything.[4] According to Lautapeliopas, Can't Stop is extremely straightforward, yet the push-your-luck element creates excitement.[6] Mikko Saari, writing for Lautapeliopas, highlighted how the push-your-luck mechanic keeps players engaged.[3]
