After the first AFL
After the Bulldogs left the AFL, Carl Etelman and Vern Hagenbuckle joined the Providence Steam Roller in late November and finished their NFL careers the next month. Several other former Bulldogs also signed with NFL teams: Bill Cronin played for the Providence Steam Roller from 1927 to 1929, Bull Lowe played for the same team in 1927, and Al Pierotti played for the Providence Steam Roller in 1927 and later for the 1929 Boston Bulldogs (NFL). That 1929 Boston Bulldogs franchise was the relocated Pottsville Maroons and was unrelated to the AFL team; it also lasted only one season.
