Lore & Background

Evan MacMillan was a soldier who returned home to find his life shattered by tragedy. The loss of his wife drove him into a deep depression and an uncontrollable rage that manifested as violent outbursts against anyone he perceived as a threat or a reminder of his pain. His descent into madness culminated in a final act of brutality where he killed multiple people, leading to his arrest and eventual death by execution. However, before the end could truly claim him, the Entity intervened.

Reader's Guide

Evan MacMillan, known as The Wraith, is one of the original Killers introduced to the Trial. His narrative arc is defined by an overwhelming sense of loss that twisted his humanity into a predatory force. Unlike other entities who may have complex motivations, Evan's drive is primal: he hunts to fill the void left by his wife's death.

His primary power allows him to enter a shrouded state, becoming invisible to Survivors while moving at high speeds through darkness. This ability makes him a master of stealth and ambush, capable of bypassing walls and striking from blind spots. When not cloaked, he moves with a heavy, lumbering gait, but his transition into the shadows is instantaneous.

Defining moments in his lore include his tragic backstory as a grieving husband and soldier, his execution which served as the catalyst for his transformation, and his eternal servitude to the Entity. He represents the darkest aspects of human grief turned into a supernatural weapon.
