Heartless (TV series)

Heartless is a Danish supernatural drama that aired for two seasons, beginning on Kanal 5 on 28 April 2014. The plot follows twin siblings Sebastian and Sofie—portrayed by Sebastian Jessen and Julie Zangenberg—who enter Ottsmansgaard boarding school in search of answers about a supernatural curse they share.

The series became available on Netflix in the United States and Canada on 1 April 2016. In the United Kingdom, it first aired on Channel 4 on 30 October 2017, then moved to the foreign-language VOD service Walter Presents.

**Plot summary** Raised in an orphanage, Sofie and Sebastian carry a dark, fatal secret: to survive, they must feed on the life energy of others. If they do not stop in time, their victim ignites and turns to ash. The twins seek to understand what they are, leading them to Ottmannsgaard, a traditional and gloomy boarding school. There, they struggle with intense new emotions—first love and passion—while fighting the urge to drain the energy of the students around them, including those they care about.
