Playing career
Angle began his youth career with the St. Catharines Falcons of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL). He was selected 114th overall in the 2016 OHL Priority Draft by the Windsor Spitfires. After three seasons of development with the Spitfires, the Columbus Blue Jackets drafted him in the seventh round, 212th overall, of the 2019 NHL entry draft. In his fourth OHL season, 2019–20, Angle improved to over a point per game, co-leading the team with 67 points in 62 regular season games before the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the 2020–21 season delayed by the pandemic and junior hockey on hiatus, Angle began his professional career by signing an amateur tryout contract with the Cleveland Monsters, the Blue Jackets' AHL affiliate, on January 21, 2021. After six games, he signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 30, 2021. In his first full AHL season with the Monsters in 2021–22, he matched his goal output and set career highs with 26 assists and 37 points in 71 games.
Near the end of the season, with the Blue Jackets out of playoff contention, he received his first NHL recall and made his debut on April 13, 2023, in a 3–2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. In his second career game, the final game of the regular season, he scored his first NHL goal in a 5–2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on April 14, 2023.
After four seasons within the Blue Jackets organization, Angle became a free agent and signed a one-year deal with German club Düsseldorfer EG of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) on August 22, 2024. Following one season in Germany, he returned to North America for the 2025–26 season, signing a one-year AHL contract with the Grand Rapids Griffins, the primary affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings, on October 8, 2025. With the Griffins, he contributed 6 goals and 26 points in 62 regular season appearances.
