Peter Sagan (born 26 January 1990) is a Slovak former professional cyclist who raced on both road and mountain bikes. He ended his cycling career in 2024. Sagan is widely regarded as a once-in-a-generation rider, with 121 professional victories to his name. His most famous accomplishments are three straight men's road race World Championships from 2015 through 2017—a feat no one else has matched—and a record seven Tour de France points classification wins. He also took two of cycling's classic one-day monuments, the Tour of Flanders in 2016 and Paris–Roubaix in 2018. In 2016, Sagan received the Vélo d'Or award and finished the season atop the UCI World Ranking.

Peter Sagan was born in Žilina, the youngest child among three brothers and a sister. He started riding bikes at age nine, joining a local club called Cyklistický spolok Žilina. As a junior, he won the cross-country race at the 2008 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships. He also finished second in the junior race at the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in Treviso and Paris–Roubaix Juniors. Sagan initially focused on mountain biking but later moved to road racing after a successful test with Liquigas–Doimo. Sagan turned professional in 2009 with Dukla Trenčín–Merida. In 2010, he won two ProTour stages at Paris–Nice, including a solo attack on stage five into Aix-en-Provence. Over his career, he won stages at the Tour of California, Tour de Suisse, and Vuelta a España. He won two cycling monuments: the Tour of Flanders in 2016 and Paris–Roubaix in 2018. He was awarded the Vélo d'Or in 2016, the same year he topped the UCI World Ranking. Sagan ended his cycling career in 2024.
