David, a Logorhythms programmer, signed onto a destructive brain scan, whose success was obscured from his family. Soon, Laurie Lowell—a fellow upload created by Logorhythms—reaches out to them both.

Three Minds, Three Wounds

At the heart of the series are three protagonists whose personal traumas are inextricable from the larger conspiracy. Maddie Kim, a fourteen-year-old at Berkshire Academy, is a bullied and withdrawn teenager still mourning her father David, who died two years earlier. Her grief is complicated when an online stranger reveals himself to be David, now existing as a digital upload created by Logorhythms. Caspian Keyes, a seventeen-year-old computer science prodigy, discovers that his entire upbringing has been orchestrated by Logorhythms to make him the key to Holstrom's unfinished legacy, with his supposed parents serving as secret agents of the corporation. Vinod Chanda, a brilliant engineer at India-based Alliance Telecom, is kidnapped and forcibly uploaded by his own boss, becoming the world's third digital mind. With help from fellow victims in Mumbai's slums, he breaks free of his virtual prison and goes rogue. Together, these three find themselves at the centre of a global conspiracy while confronting the existential and societal upheaval that rapidly advancing technology inflicts on ordinary lives.

A Chorus of Voices

The voice cast is one of the series' most distinctive strengths, featuring a large ensemble where several actors inhabit multiple roles. Katie Chang brings quiet intensity to Maddie, a shy but determined girl with a natural aptitude for programming. Paul Dano lends a sullen yet moral warmth to Caspian, while Raza Jaffrey gives Vinod Chanda a grounded brilliance. Aaron Eckhart appears in two capacities: as Cary Duvall, Caspian's ostensibly abusive father who is actually a Logorhythms agent genuinely devoted to protecting the boy, and as Admiral Kurtz, the NSA director heading the U.S. covert upload programme. Daniel Dae Kim voices David Kim, Maddie's late father, while Rosemarie DeWitt plays his protective wife Ellen, a college history professor.
