The Eldest

The first Gardener, Cael's mirror, who survives through hope.

As the oldest of all Gardeners and a perfect mirror to Cael, The Eldest communicates with the world through the System using a flat yet kind voice. Its existence takes a dramatic turn in Book 11 when Cael severs it from the loom; however, instead of consuming the entity as expected, Cael chooses to take its craft, known as The Keeping.
