Green Corn Revival (often abbreviated GCR) was an American rock band from Weatherford, Oklahoma. Formed in early 2009 by singer/songwriter Jared Deck, the band grew out of the解散 of his previous project, alternative rock band The Voice Of. Deck and drummer Kenny Holloway began writing and arranging songs, soon joined by The Voice Of bassist Ryan Houck, forming the core of the earliest lineup. The band gained early exposure by performing at rockabilly legend Wanda Jackson's showcase at SXSW 2010, and released their first full-length album, Say You're a Sinner, later that year to positive reviews. Over its active years, the band saw numerous lineup changes and released two full-length albums before dissolving in 2015.

History
Green Corn Revival got its start in early 2009 when singer-songwriter Jared Deck teamed up with drummer Kenny Holloway. Deck had just put his previous band, the alternative rock group The Voice Of, to rest, and he and Holloway started writing and arranging the songs that would become the foundation of the new project. The Voice Of bassist Ryan Houck soon joined them, forming the core of the earliest lineup. That first group also included Houck’s wife Natalie on vocals, keyboardist Caleb Creed, and lead guitarist Kyle Burrows.
In August 2009, this lineup released a three-song EP called Oklahoma. By February 2010, Burrows was out, replaced by Stephen Rozzell. The band also added bassist Miles Johnson, which freed up Ryan Houck to switch to dobro, banjo, and pedal steel. That same year, rockabilly legend Wanda Jackson invited Green Corn Revival to play her showcase at SXSW 2010, giving the young band a big boost in exposure.
Later in 2010, they put out their first full-length album, Say You’re a Sinner, which got positive reviews. Shortly after the album came out, the lineup shifted again: Tyler Paul took over on drums from Kenny Holloway, and Jacy Deck replaced Caleb Creed on keyboards. The band’s connection with Wanda Jackson continued, and they backed her at a sold-out album release party in Oklahoma City in January 2011. Around the Southwest, the band kept building a reputation, opening for Eve 6’s reunion show at SWOSUPalooza in April 2011.
That summer, Jared and Jacy Deck got married, making them the second married couple in the band. Later in 2011, the lineup changed once more: Holloway returned after Paul left to join the country band Loomis Road, and Brandon Cink, who had played with Deck in a college band, came in on bass to replace Johnson. This new lineup played the Access Music Festival in January 2012 and performed at SXSW for the second time in 2012. In April 2012, Holloway and the Houcks amicably parted ways with Green Corn Revival to form Honeylark with former GCR keyboardist Caleb Creed.
The band recruited vocalist Cora Brinkley-Gutel, bassist Clayton Roffey, and drummer Drew Simmons. They continued performing around Oklahoma and nationally, including playing the Norman Music Festival in 2013. Their second full-length album, Bound For Glory, was released November 5, 2013. The first single, "Hard Timin' Monopolizin' Blues", received a music video featuring Southwestern Oklahoma State University students and members of the Weatherford community.
In 2014, the band supported the album with live performances, including at the historic Cain's Ballroom in February, sharing the bill with Wanda Jackson for OKC Fest in June, and performing at SWOSU's "Dawg Days" new student orientation in August. Green Corn Revival played their final show on September 5, 2014, for Live Music On The Canal in Oklahoma City. On March 17, 2015, the band announced on Facebook and their official site that they had decided to "retire Green Corn Revival and move in a different direction." Frontman Jared Deck announced his decision to pursue a solo career under his own name.
