Lore & Background

The tournament was part of the early Majors dominated by Swedish teams, as Fnatic and NiP combined to win four of the first six Majors. The event featured a single-elimination playoff bracket.

In Their Own Story

The smell of energy drinks and stale air conditioning hung thick in the player's lounge. Outside, the Lanxess Arena groaned under the weight of thousands of fans, their voices a distant, rolling thunder that vibrated through the concrete floor. He sat at his station, headset on, eyes on the monitor, and listened to the crowd swell as the final round's first blood landed. His hands were steady. They had to be. In Cologne, in front of this crowd, there was no margin for a shaky crosshair. He exhaled, clicked his mouse, and the world narrowed to a single pixel on a screen while ten thousand people held their breath in the dark.
