Career
He founded the Jedi Knight Multiplayer Addon Group (JKMAG) in December 1997, then moved on to start the Action Quake2 Map Depot. Through that site he met Marcelo Dilay and Minh Le, who were developing Action Quake 2. Around January 1999 he founded Silo X, a site for Half-Life maps. After graduating, Cliffe worked at Valve as a game designer, 3D artist and level designer until his suspension in early 2018 following an arrest.
Legal history
In 2018, Cliffe was taken into custody in Seattle after meeting a 16-year-old on an adult site, facing accusations of sexually exploiting a minor. He said he thought she was of age and denied recording their encounter, which the teen claimed was nonconsensual. On Reddit, Cliffe later explained he took an Alford plea to a lesser second-degree assault charge, spent 57 days in a low-security jail, and professed his innocence, asserting he had been catfished.
