Plot

After a fight at the hotel, Dan Cahill runs off and gets snatched by Ian and Natalie Kabra. They drop him at Jonah Wizard's lollipop factory, where Jonah is nice to him—Dan gets his own suite, goes to a concert, and flies first class. Meanwhile, Amy Cahill and Nellie look for Dan and ask Alistair for help. Alistair reads a Chinese newspaper and learns Jonah plans to go to the Great Wall of China, but Jonah cancels that trip because he knows Amy and Nellie are headed there. Instead, he takes Dan to Wushu City for lessons. While checking out a tunnel, Dan stumbles on lab gear from Gideon Cahill's lab and a photo of Madeleine Cahill that once belonged to Anne Bonny. The Wizards get a strange message with coordinates, telling them to go to a certain spot at the Terra Cotta Warriors' resting place.

Amy and Nellie search the Great Wall, find a hidden door, and Nellie picks the lock. Inside a room, Amy arranges things using Feng Shui, and a light beam reveals Mount Everest. Jonah and Dan go to the Warriors, where Jonah plans to send Dan in alone in case it's a trap. It is a trap, and they end up in jail. Jonah's dad gets them out, and Jonah quits the hunt. His mother Cora Wizard slaps him in disgust and tells Dan they know his branch is Janus. Dan says he's a Madrigal and walks away, leaving the Wizards stunned. Outside, he sees the Holts climbing Mount Everest on TV.

Grace had stashed an advanced helicopter called the A-Star in rural China, telling Amy and Dan they'd need it later. Dan knows where it is and goes there. When Amy and Nellie get the A-Star ready, Dan meets up with them. Dan and Amy fly the A-Star to Mount Everest, where they find a serum stuck in the mountain. They lose it when Ian falls off a cliff edge; Amy saves him, and the serum drops miles down. Amy explains the serum was just liquid silk, and they already have the clue in another form—the piece of silk. After Amy spots an inscription showing it belonged to Anne Bonny, they head to the Caribbean to look for the next clue Anne Bonny might have left there.
