Background
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, she was working in her Aunt Pat's pottery shop in Los Angeles in 1985 and living above it when Daniel came in for pots for the bonsai shop he had opened across the street; Mr. Miyagi had sent him there on purpose. She had recently broken up with her boyfriend, so she and Daniel planned to go out on a date. When he came to pick her up he learned that she and her boyfriend were getting back together, and the two decided to go Dutch and just be friends.
She stands up to Mike Barnes, calling him a slime-ball when he comes on to her, and lands a punch on Snake when Barnes's gang wreck the bonsai shop. After the adventures with Terry Silver and Barnes she went back to Columbus but stayed in touch, and some time before 2002 she introduced Daniel to her cousin Amanda, who moved to Los Angeles and later married him.
Jessica still lives in Columbus and goes rock climbing with her two daughters.
