He made his debut for the Cavaliers that night in a 112–110 loss to the Detroit Pistons, recording 13 points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks in 42 minutes off the bench. However, this was not a regular-season game; it was the final game of the 2015–16 regular season. Jones saw early minutes in Game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals, finishing with five points, one rebound and one block, as the Cavaliers came back from a 3–1 deficit to win the series in seven games.
He was waived by the Cavaliers on July 30, 2016, then re-signed on September 26, waived again on October 24, and re-signed yet again on April 12, 2017. In the 2017 playoffs, he played three minutes in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals and was ejected after receiving back-to-back technical fouls. The Cavaliers reached the 2017 NBA Finals but lost in five games. Jones' final NBA game was Game 4 of that Finals series on June 9, 2017, where he recorded one rebound in two minutes.
