History
Hugh Edwards and his wife founded Alma Records, Inc., which produced the Christian Faith label, starting around 1953 from a Los Angeles address. The label had releases on the market by February 1954. In 1957, the company moved to Reseda, and later relocated to Northridge, though it kept using old label stock that showed the earlier address. Christian Faith employed a deliberately confusing catalog numbering system to make its album output seem larger than it actually was, which frustrated discographers. Despite this, by 1961 the label offered over 100 albums. Its marketing strategy involved sending records to dealers at a price below the usual wholesale rate, provided the dealer agreed to automatic shipments of new releases, with the option to return unsold records for a full refund. International distribution was handled by Pathway Press. In 1967, the label was sold to Sing Recording Company.
