Antidemon

History

Antidemon formed on January 12, 1994, with Carlos Batista on vocals, Alexandre Cebotorov on bass, Kleber Albino on guitars, Sergio Gonçalves on guitars, and Elke Garzoli on drums. A demo appeared later that year. Cebotorov and Gonçalves then left, and Batista took over bass duties. Further demos followed in 1997 and 1998. The debut album Demonocídio was self-released in 1999. A split EP with Zen Garden, titled Barad, followed. In March 2002 the band toured Mexico for the first time on the Demonocídio Mexican Tour. The second album, Anillo de fuego (Spanish for Ring of Fire), came out in 2003. A live album, Live in Palencia - Spain, was released in 2004, and the band played Destruction Fest that year. Wanderlinden Oliveira briefly played drums, and Maurício Cebalho joined on guitars. Oliveira was replaced by Juliana Batista, Carlos' wife. Two split EPs appeared in 2006: one with Empty Grave, and a five-way split with Against Death, Implement, Soterion, and Spiritual Live. The third album, Satanichaos, was released in 2009, after which Cebalho left. The band again played Destruction Fest alongside Ashen Mortality, A Hill to Die Upon, and Solace the Day. In 2009 Antidemon toured Mexico, Bolivia, Brazil, Italy, England, Norway, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, and Sweden, sharing bills with The Crucified, Theocracy, Narnia, Morgenroede, Prayer, Peerlees, Allos, Dynasty, Harpazzo, Posttrevor, Moriah, and Honoris Causa. In 2012 the band signed to Rowe Productions, owned by Steve Rowe of Mortification, and released Apocalypsenow through that label. They signed to Vision of God Records in 2017 and were preparing to record a fifth album, hoping to finish by the end of 2018.
