Shaoxing Keqiao Yuejia F.C.

History

The club was established in April 1988 as Dalian Tielu and entered the Chinese national leagues at the third tier for the 1989 season. Its appearances in the national leagues were sporadic due to its amateur status during a period of league restructuring toward full professionalism. In February 1994, the Yiteng Group began funding the club, which became a semi-professional unit and soon a fully professional team in the third division. Xu Yin and Cheng Xianfei were appointed joint managers, and the club finished third in the league, earning promotion to the second tier.

The 1995 season saw the team finish tenth in the second tier and suffer relegation back to the third division. The Yiteng Group took full control in 1996, and the following year the club merged with local rivals Dalian Shunfa. By the 1999 campaign, the owners believed the squad was capable of promotion, but the team missed the division play-offs after Mianyang F.C. had identical points and goal difference following the removal of the last-placed odd-number team.

The Chinese Football Association decided the tie would be settled by drawing lots, and Mianyang won. Chairman Cui Yi and the Yiteng Group, aggrieved by the outcome, withdrew from competition the next season and sold the squad to Dalian Shide F.C. for 8 million Yuan.
