What the cited sources add

A Kirkus Reviews account called the novel "nothing short of amazing".[1] The same review described the 500-plus-page novel as surging forward "full throttle with an intense, alarming tone full of danger, deceit and a touch of romance".[1] Justin Cronin of The New York Times wrote that while the plot borrows from pop culture sources, it is a "rip-roaring setup" where "the pages turn themselves".[3] Critic Katherine Schulten listed it as one of the best young adult books of 2013.[3]
