The old Comiskey Park press box, long since demolished, held a certain silence in the off-season. The bartender, a third-generation Sox fan, set down his rag and shook his head slowly. 'I've got the 1906 schedule, the 1917 pennant, the 2005 parade photos on the wall. I don't got a Frank White.' The fan shrugged, finished his beer, and walked out into the Chicago wind. The pinstripes on the wall didn't change.
