The total prize pool was $50,000, with $20,000 for the Rapid and $30,000 for the Blitz.[6] The 2026 Naroditsky Memorial was held over three days, starting on 3 July and ending on 5 July, at the Charlotte Marriott City Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.[2] After finishing the rapid tournament tied for first place with a score of 6/7, Javokhir Sindarov beat Aravindh Chithambaram 2–0 in a blitz playoff to claim the rapid title.[3] On 5 July, a Creator Invitational blitz tournament was held, which included well-known chess content creators.[7]

For winning the rapid, Sindarov received 11.30 FIDE Circuit points, and for winning the blitz, he received 9.28 points.[8]

What the cited sources add

The Chess News account states that rapid and blitz were natural choices given Naroditsky's association with quick time controls as a player, commentator and teacher.[5] The rapid tournament on 3 July used a time control of 10 minutes plus a 5-second increment per move.[5] The Gazeta.uz report notes that Naroditsky's mother presented the winner's trophy.[9] Sindarov said he traveled to the tournament to honor Naroditsky's memory and described him as "the kindest person in chess"[9]

The UzDaily.uz report confirms Sindarov completed an impressive tournament double at the inaugural memorial competitions.[10]
