Background

The original Eastwood Hanley club was situated in the Joiners Square area of the city, south east of the main town Hanley. They played at Trentmill Road for most of their history. In 1986, they won the Staffordshire Senior Cup, their one major honour. The following year, 1987, they joined the Northern Premier League Division One in its first season.

At their peak, they were one of the best non-league teams in North Staffordshire, rivalling Leek Town for the top spot in the pyramid. However, regular vandalism of the Trentmill Road site forced them out in the early 1990s. They groundshared with Kidsgrove and Newcastle for a few seasons, but interest waned and gates decreased. The club eventually folded in 1997.

A failed bid to revive the club came in 2009, but success came in 2014 when Sandford Hill Allstars adopted the name Eastwood Hanley. They joined the Staffordshire County Senior League and now play at Eastwood Hanley Stadium. The club also has a Development side that plays in Division 2 of the Staffs County League at Northwood Stadium.
