History

As Everything Unfolds started in 2013 when Alex Paton and guitarist Adam Kerr played together as an acoustic duo. They almost went with the name Beneath Burning Skies but settled on their current one instead. After Charlie Rolfe joined on vocals, the band put out their debut EP Jekyll & Hyde in 2014, followed by a second EP called Collide in 2017. Their third EP, Closure, came out in 2018 and got positive feedback.

In September 2020, they signed with Long Branch Records, an imprint of SPV Schallplatten, and released their first full-length album, Within Each Lies The Other, on 26 March 2021. Owen Hill left the band amicably on 13 May 2022 to chase new opportunities. In January 2023, the band announced their second album, Ultraviolet, which dropped on 21 April to generally good reviews and later earned a nomination for Metal Hammer's Best Album of the Year 2023.

While playing Slam Dunk Festival in 2024, they revealed they were working on a third album, with 16 songs already written. On 30 August 2024, the band shared on social media that drummer Jamie Gowers had passed away on 26 August. On 22 November 2024, they hit the road across the UK and Europe as support for Bury Tomorrow, alongside Make Them Suffer and Thornhill. On 16 June 2025, they announced a new deal with Century Media Records and dropped the single "Set in Flow" the next day.

In January 2026, they revealed their third album, Did You Ask to Be Set Free?, would arrive on 10 April. On 31 July 2026, keyboardist Jon Cassidy said he was stepping away to follow a different musical direction.
