Mr. Oshiro
The ghostly owner of the Celestial Resort who cannot leave his empty hotel behind.
Mr. Oshiro is a ghost Madeline meets on her climb in Celeste. He is the long-dead owner of the Celestial Resort, an abandoned hotel on the mountain, and he still runs it alone even though no guests come. He first appears in Chapter 3, when Madeline rings the bell at the hotel reception, and he returns in the epilogue, where he finally leaves the hotel to join the others for strawberry pie at the summit. The Old Woman calls him a lost soul for whom the hotel is much more than a building; during the chapter he struggles to let go of his past, and Badeline taunts him by claiming Madeline only helped him to feed her own ego.
