Synopsis

While working as a rural deputy in Hazzard County, Enos accidentally captured two most-wanted criminals, impressing the Los Angeles Police Department enough that they offered him a job in their newly formed Special Branch. He was teamed with a street-smart black partner, Turk Adams, and worked under Lt. Jacob Broggi. At times friends from Hazzard County visited him; in one episode Daisy Duke came while participating in an auto race, unaware she was being used to smuggle a diamond.

Enos narrated each episode as viewers heard parts of a letter he was writing to Daisy. The character returned to The Dukes of Hazzard in autumn 1982 at the start of its fifth season, as Shroyer's contract allowed his return if the spin-off was canceled. In the CBS film specials The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion! (1997) and The Dukes of Hazzard: Hazzard in Hollywood (2000), Enos appeared as a California lawman, having returned to the LAPD and become a detective.
