Little Robots

Little Robots is a stop-motion animated series for children, made in Britain by Cosgrove Hall Films on behalf of Create TV & Film. It first appeared on CBeebies, the UK channel aimed at preschoolers that mixes education with entertainment. The show centres on a cast of small, friendly robots who inhabit a bright, colourful world. Their episodes typically follow them through everyday adventures, where they tackle problems and explore ideas like friendship, teamwork, and imagination.

Every robot in the series is named after an adjective. Tiny, a small blue robot voiced by Hayley Carmichael in the UK and Jules de Jongh in the US, is the group's unofficial leader—curious, friendly, and inventive, he works to keep everyone healthy and getting along, and he is the smallest of the group apart from Messy and Flappy. Messy is a green-and-yellow robotic dog who makes vocal effects (provided by Jimmy Hibbert) and has a playful, helpful nature. Sporty, voiced by Lenny Henry in the UK and Paul Mitchell-Jones in the US, is a tall silver, red, and green robot named for being the most physically active. Though sometimes cocky and short-sighted, he is well-liked for his friendliness and willingness to help. Stretchy, voiced by Jimmy Hibbert in the UK and Adam Sims in the US, is a dark indigo robot with a long, winding neck. He is a fussy neat freak who runs the scrapyard, keeping it tidy and organised while helping others find what they need; despite his stern manner, he is friendlier than he appears. Unlike the others, Stretchy moves on crawler tracks rather than legs. Rusty, voiced by Morwenna Banks in the UK and Maria Darling in the US, is a faded red robot with a rusted orange head and a silver funnel hat. Shy but loving, she enjoys decorating her house and helping friends, though her bashfulness sometimes makes her vent steam. Her name comes from her more worn-down look. Stripy, voiced by Martin Clunes in the UK and Tom Clarke-Hill in the US, is a tall, broad rectangular robot covered in colourful stripes. The largest of the group, he is slow and easygoing, happy to watch the world and tell stories, and he always carries his silver teddy bear. Noisy, voiced by Su Pollard in the UK and Maria Darling in the US, is a bright red three-legged robot with brass horns on her head and nose.
