The series saw the departures of Tom Kent, Sam Nicholls, Jamie Collier, and Adrian 'Fletch' Fletcher, as well as temporary departures of Zoe Hanna and Kathleen 'Dixie' Dixon. New regulars included Lily Chao, Rita Freeman, Ethan Hardy, Caleb Knight, and Ben 'Lofty' Chiltern, along with returns of Holby City character Connie Beauchamp and paramedics Iain Dean and Tamzin Bayle. Episode 43, 'Falling – Part 2', depicted a train crash and derailment, filmed at the Great Central Railway at Swithland sidings over several nights in February 2014.
