Eddie Johnson was a key offensive contributor for the St. Louis Blues, Hartford Whalers, and Los Angeles Kings in the 1980s and early 1990s, known for his scoring touch and physical play. He was originally drafted by the Blues in the 4th round (80th overall) of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft, and later played for the Whalers and Kings before retiring. His number has not been honored by the Hurricanes organization.
