Farming for Love

Farming for Love is a Canadian reality dating show that first aired on CTV on May 28, 2023. It is based on the international format Farmer Wants a Wife but was retitled to be more inclusive, allowing female and LGBT farmers to participate alongside male farmers seeking partners. The series is hosted by Sabrina Jalees.

The first season, announced on May 16, 2023, featured five farmers and 31 contestants, all from British Columbia. In episode 6, each farmer could either meet a new date or take an existing contestant on a date. The farmers were: Ashleigh Tuhkala, a 33-year-old horse rancher and trainer from Gibsons, who eliminated all her dates in episode 6 but later chose a mystery date as the winner; Charley Cottrill, a 25-year-old vineyard operator from Keremeos; Dave Semmelink, a 32-year-old livestock and grain farmer from the Comox Valley; Doug Groenendijk, a 25-year-old dairy farmer from Chemainus; and Gurleen Maan, a 34-year-old berry farmer from Abbotsford.

Season 2 was filmed in fall 2023 and premiered on CTV on May 29, 2024. It featured four farmers: Erin Harris, a 34-year-old second-generation female dairy farmer from Creston, B.C., who works soil-to-shelf; Kirkland, a 35-year-old two-spirit, gay former rodeo champion turned cattle farmer and horse boarder from Rosedale, B.C., who is Indigenous from the Cheam First Nation Band and a descendant of Indigenous Chiefs, with a diploma in acting from Vancouver Film School and acting credits including The Traitors Canada season two; Josh, a 27-year-old male who runs his family dairy farm in Chilliwack, B.C., also a sales representative for a crop input company and a hockey player; and Mischa, a 32-year-old male fourth-generation beekeeper and orchardist from Lillooet, B.C., a former sponsored longboarder who earned his first pro deal at 18, later founded a longboard shop in Vancouver, and attended Quest University.
