An alien seeks an Earth woman to repopulate his dying world.
The Invader is a 1997 science fiction film directed by Mark Rosman. Two UFOs enter Earth’s atmosphere, with a larger ship chasing a smaller one. The smaller ship crashes the larger one and lands. Its pilot, Renn, seeks out a local schoolteacher named Annie Nilssen, who recently broke up with her boyfriend, Sheriff Jack Logan. After meeting Annie at a tavern, Renn kisses her. The next day, Annie’s doctor tells her she is two and a half months pregnant, despite being infertile due to uterine scarring and having ended her relationship four months earlier. Renn finds her at home, explains he is the father, and insists she must flee with him from a pursuing alien killer. He kidnaps her, gives her an egg-shaped supplement, and explains that his world died and his people need Earth women to repopulate. The pregnancy will complete in three days, and he must take her to his ship. Annie does not believe him until she encounters the second alien, Willard, who tries to kill her. Willard’s attempt fails, and Renn reclaims Annie. After lightning destroys his ship, they head to a mountaintop to contact his mothership. During the journey, Annie softens toward Renn, and he develops feelings for her. They reach the mountain, where the baby’s psychic cry summons the mothership. Annie gives birth. Renn kills Willard but is mortally wounded. He tells Annie he repaired her uterus, allowing her to have children. Renn dies peacefully, and his people take his body and the baby. Annie and Jack embrace, and Annie watches the departing ship, wondering about her daughter.
