Coffee Crisp is a chocolate bar manufactured in Canada by Nestlé. It consists of alternating layers of vanilla wafer and a foamed coffee-flavoured soft candy, covered with a milk chocolate outer layer. The bar is produced at a Toronto factory originally built for Cowan Cocoa and Chocolate in 1905, which Nestlé acquired when it bought Rowntree's in 1988.

History
The Coffee Crisp bar traces its origins to William Neilson Ltd in Toronto, which developed the idea before being acquired by Rowntree's. Rowntree's already sold its Wafer Crisp in Canada under the name Biscrisp. In 1938, a coffee-flavored version, drawing on Neilson's concept, joined the Biscrisp lineup as Coffee Crisp. Nestlé bought Rowntree's and its Canadian holdings in 1988, including the Toronto factory built in 1905 that still makes the bar.
Variations
The original Coffee Crisp bar saw its first variation in 2001 with a limited orange flavor, which returned briefly in 2002. That same year, a raspberry version also appeared. Café Caramel hit shelves during the summers of 2004 and 2006, while a white chocolate variant launched in autumn 2006. A maple-flavored bar was sold from April to September 2005.
Throughout much of the 2000s, French Vanilla and Triple Mocha were regular offerings. In 2005, the brand introduced Coffee Crisp Beans, shaped like coffee beans, alongside a yogurt-flavored bar. By January 2007, every variation except the original was discontinued. A 70% dark chocolate version came out in 2009.
Between 2008 and 2010, French Vanilla and Chocolatey Crunch reappeared. For the bar’s 75th anniversary in 2014, Coffee Crisp Latte was released. Early 2021 brought a Double Double flavor. Ice cream fans can find a Coffee Crisp-flavored bar and a matching ice cream flavor.
In 2023, bite-sized round chocolates called Coffee Crisp Pops arrived. Finally, Coffee Crisp Mix-Ups—small clusters of wafer, chocolate, and graham cracker—debuted in March 2025.
Availability outside Canada
If you want a Coffee Crisp outside Canada, you will have to hunt for it. Australia has it in a few specialty candy shops, and British Wholesale Imports brings it into the United States. In 2006, an online petition at coffeecrisp.org asked Nestlé to sell the bar nationwide in the U.S. The site claims the petition worked, and Nestlé started a national rollout in late July 2006. You can also find Coffee Crisp at the Canadian pavilion shop in Epcot at Walt Disney World.
