Playing career

Andersén got his start in hockey with Grums IK, the club from his hometown, before moving on to Leksands IF. He made his SHL debut with Leksands during the 2005–06 season. In 2007, he switched to another SHL team, Brynäs IF, and spent five seasons there, winning the Swedish championship with the club in 2012. He then moved to the KHL, signing with Severstal Cherepovets for the 2012–13 season. After two years in Russia, he returned to Brynäs IF and served as the team's captain for the 2014–15 campaign. Looking to play in North America, he signed a one-year entry-level contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins on June 15, 2015. He never played an NHL game but did suit up for 75 contests with Pittsburgh's AHL affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. After just one season overseas, he left North America on June 2, 2016, to join the KHL's Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg. A year later, on June 12, 2017, he agreed to a one-year deal with EHC Kloten of the Swiss National League. His time with Kloten was short; he was released on November 9, 2017, after recording a minus-15 plus/minus rating and just one point in 18 games. He finished that season with Jokerit, a Finnish KHL club. On April 23, 2018, Andersén returned to Sweden as a free agent, signing a three-year contract with his former team, Brynäs IF.
