Playing career
Adam Boqvist began his professional career in Sweden, debuting in the SHL for Brynäs IF in September 2017. The Chicago Blackhawks picked him eighth overall in the 2018 NHL draft, and he soon signed a three-year entry-level deal. That July, he joined the OHL’s London Knights for the 2018–19 season. He notched his first NHL goal in a November 2019 win over the Anaheim Ducks. In July 2021, the Blackhawks traded Boqvist and several draft picks to the Columbus Blue Jackets for Seth Jones and picks. A year later, he inked a three-year, $7.8 million extension with Columbus. Injuries plagued his time there, and in June 2024 the Blue Jackets put him on unconditional waivers for a buyout. He cleared, had the final year of his contract bought out, and became an unrestricted free agent. That July, Boqvist signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Florida Panthers, joining his brother Jesper on the team. He played 18 games for Florida in the 2024–25 season, recording six points. In January 2025, the New York Islanders claimed him off waivers. He appeared in 17 games for the Islanders to finish the season. In May 2025, the Islanders re-signed him to a one-year, $850,000 extension.
