Bruce Springsteen, nicknamed "The Boss," has been putting out records since 1973. His music is known as heartland rock, mixing catchy pop melodies with poetic lyrics and themes tied to American life, especially his home state of New Jersey. As of December 2021, he had sold over 150 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists ever. *Billboard* ranked him the 24th greatest artist of all time, and the Recording Industry Association of America reports he has sold 65.5 million albums in the United States, placing him seventh among male soloists.
