Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 5

Summary

Jake and Rosa spend time behind bars getting used to prison life. The Nine-Nine eventually manages to bring down Melanie Hawkins, but only after Holt strikes a bargain with a local mobster named Seamus Murphy. Once they’re free, Jake realizes he isn’t ready to jump back into fieldwork, and Rosa ends things with Adrian. At the fifth annual Halloween heist, Jake pops the question to Amy, and the two get engaged.

While in Los Angeles for their former captain’s funeral, Holt discovers he’s a candidate for police commissioner, and the squad promises to help him handle Murphy. Rosa comes out as bisexual. Gina returns from maternity leave. The team finds a legal workaround so Holt can honor his deal with Murphy without breaking his ethics, but Murphy catches on and threatens Kevin’s life.

Kevin has to stay in a safe house with Jake for two months to stay hidden. Once the Nine-Nine tracks down Murphy’s hideout, Kevin personally takes him down, and Murphy and his crew are arrested. Charles tries running his own food truck. Amy passes the sergeant’s exam.

A bomb threat ruins their original wedding plans, so Jake and Amy get married outside the precinct. The season wraps up at their wedding after-party, where no one knows for sure if Holt got the commissioner job.
