Premise

Long ago, aliens took all the dinosaurs. Now, in the near future, those same aliens threaten Earth. A secret program, the Armorsaurs Initiative, recruits teens with a genetic link to dinosaurs from the Avian Anomaly. Each pilot bonds with a unique dinosaur species, merging ancient power with high-tech armor to stop the aliens from unleashing prehistoric war beasts.

Characters

Liam Roberts (Jailen Bates) is an Armorsaurs scientist partnered with Ajax, an armored Tyrannosaurus; in battle he wears red armor and wields a sword. T.J. Shirazi (Jacob Makabi), a professional basketball player, partners with Cobalt, an armored Triceratops, and wears blue armor with a war hammer that can become a laser gun. Paloma Silva (Avianna Mynhier), a fashionista and vlogger, is partnered with Blaze, an armored Velociraptor; she wears yellow armor and uses nunchuks. Her younger tomboy sister Prisca Silva (Sade Louise) partners with Pulse, Blaze's sibling and also an armored Velociraptor; she wears orange armor, wields a bo staff, and later develops a psychic power linked to dinosaurs that causes headaches and nightmares. Joon Park (Derrick Kwak), a Taekwondo expert, partners with Velox, a large armored Pteranodon; he wears black armor and uses a bow and arrow. The Armorsaurs can don armor from their pilot's vehicles: Ajax has retractable cables, Cobalt has large lasers, Blaze has retractable lasers and can partially bond with Paloma's vehicle, Pulse has retractable blades and can partially bond with Prisca's vehicle, and Velox has blades on its wing tops. Lt. Col. Jessalyn Helmsworth (Yvonne Chapman) is the military leader behind the Armorsaurs Initiative and mentors the pilots. Dr. Chandler (Andrew Russell) leads field operations and invents mission equipment; in "Brother in Armorsaurs" he is revealed as an alien of the same species as Karter Klay. Su Park (Jin Kwon Song), Joon's older brother and a Taekwondo fighter, originally owned Cobalt before T.J. bonded with it; he was hospitalized after a Chromedrone attack and later turned into a humanoid Chromedrone by Karter Klay.

Production

Announced in October 2023, Armorsaurs was developed through a collaboration between MGA Entertainment, MGA Studios, and CAKE Entertainment, with Disney Branded Television handling distribution. The series is directed by David Feiss, creator of Cow and Chicken, and produced by Isaac Larian and Tom van Waveren. Feiss learned of the project from writer Konnie Kwak, with whom he had worked on YooHoo & Friends. Production blended live-action filming with digital animation using motion capture and virtual tools; the first season was shot in and around Seoul during summer 2024, reusing assets from Armored Saurus while casting new actors with new storylines.
